Cafe Madrid in Leipzig

Don’t go here. At best you get overpriced mediocre steaks. At worst you get microwaved tapas, rubbery squid and olives/peppers that would have tasted 10x better if you got the cheapest jar at the super market (come on, literally just buy better stuff, I can’t even blame this on a bad day/chef). Also: way too much salt on practically everything... Maybe don’t make your menu go on for twenty pages. Throw out what you don’t sell often and focus on making the staples better... At least the service was good...

Tapas is amazing when you are in a big group. Baked baby potatoes with sauce are even better.

The location is big and really nice. The quality of food is good and they have many original Spanish dishes. At the time of our visit the service was really slow and we needed to wait a while. The staff is friendly and they are able to recommend you some good dishes if you don’t know what too choose. The wine menu and drinks is as the dishes good and they have plenty of choices with and without alcohol.

Nice Spanish restaurant in the middle of Leipzig. The food was very tasty - we liked both the tapas and the main courses very much. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time at the beginning until our order was taken. The starter was served quickly. It was also positive that we were asked whether the main course could be served. Unfortunately, my main course was taken incorrectly and they were apologized but also pointed out that it could take longer now. All in all: good food with high prices.

Very tasty food and flavorful. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like it did in Madrid but was adapted for the German palate. It's a shame, otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Food was good, but things were always forgotten to be brought to the table. In addition, the map could be a little more detailed. Some dishes are included in the tapas but are of their own size

We had a great evening with delicious tapas like from Spain. The service was super nice and fast. The location is also very central, so you have many options afterwards. Nobody could tell that everything was closed on Monday. We will definitely be back next time.

Respect for the kitchen and the natural friendliness. The cuisine here is mainly Spanish. My wife's dish and especially my steak were a dream.

We think it is a very recommendable restaurant with excellent cuisine and very friendly service staff. For me, a dish with rabbit simply belongs on the menu of a Spanish restaurant ... Wish made - wish fulfilled! Due to the lack of demand from the guests, the rabbit is definitely not on the menu, but I was able to put together my own dish including this desired meat side dish. A very successful evening! Thanks;) I only give the asterisk deduction because it was so incredibly loud, even when the evening got later and only half of the guests were sitting. But we also sat in the middle of the room, maybe the background noise is a little less at the edge.

It was terrific. Very friendly service and a very cozy atmosphere. We had a table in the courtyard. The food was great too. I would be happy to recommend it to others and will definitely be back.

Excellent restaurant with an excellent selection of Spanish specialties. Our waiter had a lot to do in view of the high workload, but mastered this requirement with flying colors due to his enjoyment of the job. So not only the delicious food but also the service ensured a successful evening. I can recommend a visit to anyone who wants to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a Spanish marketplace paired with good food and service, but don't forget to make a reservation!

Once again we weren't disappointed when it came to the food, just delicious the various tapas. Service super attentive, friendly and quick. Thanks to the immediate replacement of the face mask (waitress got stuck on grandpa's mask 😅) Just a hint for those who want it a little quieter, the volume is a bit like a train station. But we always recommend Cafe Madrid. 👍👍👍

Oh man, you should go here for sure! Very spacious place with extremely friendly staff. They have good Spanish food and drinks. The Sangria was not traditional, but did the trick 😉 Food was amazing and you can easily spend a lot of money here. The prices are a bit high, especially the Sangria. So be aware of the prices when you order. If you're visiting Leipzig, pay a visit for sure.

This restaurant is not only in the best location in Leipzig, it is also the best restaurant here !!!! Great ambience, pretty courtyard area and the service is world class !!!! The food / tapas are excellent and there is an excellent wine selection. We were in Leipzig for 4 days and ate 3 times in Café Madrid and had a wonderful evening. The best Spaniard I've been with so far. The food is really delicious and the service is very friendly. Ambience is also right. Shortcomings: the prices are really very high, especially for the tapas. And what is a shame: the tapas platters (in total a little cheaper than with a single order) are fixed in the selection and you can't replace anything with something you might prefer. Competitive providers are much more flexible.

Busy restaurant and with good reason. The tapas are incomparably good and there is a large selection. In terms of taste, each is a highlight. I have the Iberian pork as my main course. Well prepared and with delicious side dishes. The portions are very large, unfortunately hardly any tapas fit in first. ;-). The selection of wines also leaves nothing to be desired. Unfortunately a little expensive compared to the other restates in Leipzig.

Were there for the summer cabaret of the "Academixer" in the inner courtyard, previously well fed. Wide variety of food and drinks, delicious desserts, fast and nice service. Every year gladly in this location!

Excellent food, ambiente, and service. Very good selection of great wines. My go-to dish when I eat here is the mixed seafood plate. Very tasty and freshly cooked. Simply amazing. Staff is friendly and very attentive.

I am often in Leipzig and like to try out new restaurants. Since I run a restaurant myself, I don't understand how to treat guests like that. The i-Punkt, colleague is at the door and we receive the information that the colleague cannot come out to settle the accounts. Not understandable, because up to now, billing has been carried out directly on neighboring tables. Does it have to do with the rain? The food is unfortunately not recommended either.

One star for the friendly service. The tapas was obviously microwaved and of very poor quality. Very overpriced for what you get.

Very nice place with delicious spain food, I love their pilates with tapas.

Nothing special about those tapas. I was expecting a whole lot more regarding quality of ingredients and taste.

Apart from the friendly service, from a very nice and polite spanish waiter from Barcelona, this place has gone down hill drastically. My wife and I have been coming here for over 5 years, as we are regular visitors to Spain, we enjoyed coming here to get our Tapas fix. But sadly the food is clearly not fresh, infact most of it was so dry and overcooked (from reheating) that eating the food was really not a pleasure. Shame on the management and shame that we have lost one of our favourite restaurants in Leipzig

Good food, Nice service and resonable prices

Good place to grab some drinks and just enjoy the night. We ordered 2 cocktails- Mariposa and Caipirinha along with Fried bell pepper and garlic mushroom. The food was pretty basic. Spanish food, isn’t that high on flavor ( as per Indian standards). But it was still good enough. Better choice of dishes would have helped, I guess.

I really enjoyed it. I would recommend the sea food platter, I think we paid about 60 euros for 2 of us and 4 drinks. I look forward to going back. It has a noisy (I am good way) environment.
